What is an SMS one-time passcode (OTP)?

An SMS one-time passcode is a short numeric code sent to your phone number that you enter to complete sign-in. Codes are time-sensitive and expire quickly, so use them right away. SMS OTP is used as a second factor after signing in with your email magic link or connected account, unless you have a passkey set up.
